COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Alongside Inauguration Day, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, where the former American leader and civil rights activist is remembered, honored, and celebrated every third Monday of January. Even though the Colorado Springs area expects freezing temperatures tomorrow, the “Freedom March” at Antlers Hotel pushes through for Dr.

King’s legacy.

Attendees will be walking around the hotel Monday at 10 a.m., with an “All Peoples Breakfast” starting the event at 8 a.m. The breakfast is now closed for registration, however, the protest is free and open to the public.

Legacy Preservation Culture, looked up to Dr. King as a child himself.

“When I was reading at a little age, and I came across Dr. Martin Luther King’s autobiographies, etc., and I read them I said, ‘Wow, this is who I want to be,’” Crutcher exclaimed.

“So, I devoted my life to the youth to make sure that any community that we’re in, the people are well represented And not only that, but they take ownership.”

Crutcher started and runs a non-profit community development firm, soon to be accessible across the nation.

Crutcher Cornerstone Movement focuses on many aspects of growth and change within individuals.

“Dr. King said, anybody can be great,” Crutcher explained. “Anybody can be great, as long as you serve And so, when we created this organization, it was how can we serve?

One of the most apparent advocates of nonviolence and lead action as methods of social change, Martin Luther King, Jr. As the grandson of the Rev. I know Dr. King, to me, is a superhero, and I believe he would oppose the community, especially the youth as an individual hero. Everybody can be great. All you have to do is work for. So, as you serve, what is your cape?

Martin Luther King Jr. King advanced civil rights for people of tint in the United States through the use of nonviolent resistance and nonviolent civil disobedience against Jim Crow laws and other forms of legalized discrimination. A black church leader, King participated in and led marches for the right to votedesegregationlabor rightsand other civil rights. King was one of the leaders of the March on Washingtonwhere he delivered his " I Possess a Dream " speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorialand helped organize two of the three Selma to Montgomery marches during the Selma voting rights movement.
