Endeavour Mining appoints Srinivasan Venkatakrishnan as its board chair and Ian Cockerill as senior director

Endeavour Mining PLC (LSE:EDV, TSX:EDV, OTCQX:EDVMF) has announced the appointments of Srinivasan Venkatakrishnan as the new chair of the company’s board of directors, as well as an independent non-executive director, and Ian Cockerill as a senior independent non-executive director, effective May 24,
Venkatakrishnan succeeds Michael Beckett, who is retiring from the board after 12 years as its chair.
“Endeavour has built a resilient business with a high-quality portfolio in one of the most attractive gold producing regions of the world,” Venkatakrishnan said in a statement.

“I look forward to playing my part in building on Michael’s considerable achievements and working with the Board in supporting Sebastien and his team as they continue to pursue the Company’s successful strategy,” he added.
Endeavour noted the board changes underscore its commitment to pursue the top standards of corporate governance and alignment with the UK Corporate Governance Code, following its listing on the premium segment of the London Stock Exchange in June
Venkatakrishnan is a former CEO of global gold producer AngloGold Ashanti (ASX:AGG) Limited, while Cockerill has 45 years of trial in the global natural resources industry including as CEO of Anglo American subsidiary Gold Fields and Anglo Coal.
